I'll round off my Panama trip blog posts with the last day of my trip, September 19th. Aaron, being the kind and supportive person that he is, offered to secure a time slot for me to give a talk about the review article I had published earlier this year with PJ and Doug Bird. [Remember? I wrote a blog post about the figures I created for it :)] This was an amazing opportunity to talk about our article and about my dissertation research with the whole STRI community, so of course I said "Yes, please!"
Aaron signed me up for one of the weekly formal Tupper Seminars that is held in STRI's conference center in Panama City. My talk was actually live-streamed and will soon be archived here for your viewing pleasure :) I've posted my slides for the review article and conch project discussions below if you'd like to check them out. Let me know what you think! Cheers :)
I have a few more details about my conch collections in my Bocas del Toro blog post. I'm currently extracting DNA from the tissue of the live-collected individuals. Soon I'll be grinding up their shells to see if I can get DNA from those as well! Wish me luck :D
